Winters Bitter End

Winters Bitter End
Several weeks ago some perplexed German visitors looked out my office window and commented how the visible sky was blue and sunny yet large snow flakes were falling. Willkommen to Utah.

Early this week the temperatures were summer like, 80 degrees, then the next days snow and rain and thick gray cloud cover. I found this little unhappy bunch next to the blossoms I was checking on to see if they were surviving the cold winds. Spring teases me too much this year.

As I sorted through the latest bunch of my photos it seems my eye has forgotten the rule of thirds, or at least the rule is deemphasized; in this image it adds to the feelings of gray contempt. Nothing escapes the blur in this image because of the low light and thirty mile an hour winds.
